Legal Terms of Service
A binding agreement,
written to be read.
The rules for using Normies. What we agree to do, what you agree to do, and what happens if things go sideways.
The short version 6 things
§ 01Who we are
"Normies," "we," "us" means Normies Labs LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with a principal office in Wilmington, DE, USA. "You" means the individual using the service.
§ 02Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract where you live.
- You must not be a resident of, or located in, any jurisdiction subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions (currently: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, DNR, and LNR regions of Ukraine).
- You must not be on any U.S. or applicable international sanctions list.
- Normies is launching in the U.S. first; other markets will be announced as available.
§ 03The service
Normies provides: (a) a self-custody wallet interface, (b) routing to third-party DeFi protocols for yield, (c) a partner-issued Visa card for spending, and (d) supporting features (analytics, notifications, statements). The service is software. We do not hold your funds.
§ 04Self-custody model
Your balance lives on public blockchains at addresses controlled by you through MPC key management. You authorize every movement of funds by signing a transaction. Normies cannot move, freeze, or recover your funds without a signed transaction from you. If you lose access to your recovery credentials, funds may be permanently unrecoverable. We strongly recommend configuring passkey backup and verifying that your recovery email is deliverable before funding the account with meaningful amounts.
§ 05The card
The Normies Visa Debit Card is issued by a bank partner through Rain. The cardholder agreement you accept when the card is issued is a separate contract between you and the issuing bank. These Terms govern Normies' software and your use of it; they do not supersede the cardholder agreement.
Card transactions are settled by just-in-time conversion of your USDC balance to USD at network rates. Declined transactions, chargebacks, and network-level fees (e.g., foreign transaction fees) are governed by the cardholder agreement and network rules.
§ 06Fees
As of the effective date: no monthly fee, no minimum balance, no fee on yield, no network foreign-transaction markup beyond what Visa charges. Yield is paid to your balance automatically; Normies takes no spread on yield at launch. We will announce any fee changes at least 30 days in advance by email.
§ 07Acceptable use
Don't use Normies to:
- Break any law or facilitate money laundering, terrorism financing, or sanctions evasion.
- Defraud any person, merchant, or financial institution.
- Reverse-engineer or circumvent the MPC key model or KYC checks.
- Impersonate another person or account.
- Scrape, drain, overload, or degrade the service.
Violations may result in suspension of your account; because your funds are self-custodied, suspension does not give us control of your balance, but it may prevent you from using the app or the card until resolved.
§ 08Intellectual property
The Normies name, logo, website, app, and content are owned by Normies Labs LLC. You get a non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to use the software for its intended purpose. All other rights reserved.
§ 09Risk acknowledgement
You acknowledge that: (i) digital assets are volatile and can lose value; (ii) smart contracts, including Aave V3, can have bugs that cause loss of funds; (iii) stablecoins can lose their peg; (iv) blockchain networks can halt or reorg; (v) key management in self-custody is your responsibility; (vi) regulation may change in ways that affect availability. Use of Normies is at your own risk. See Disclosures for the full list.
§ 10No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation of the service.
§ 11Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Normies' total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD $100. In no event is Normies liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill, even if we were advised of the possibility.
Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or anything the law says cannot be limited.
§ 12Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Normies and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or expense arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of third-party rights.
§ 13Termination
You can close your Normies account at any time from within the app. We can suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms or if we're required to by law. On termination: your self-custody balance remains yours and accessible via standard wallet tools; sections 8–14 survive.
§ 14Disputes, arbitration, class waiver
Governing law. Delaware law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Informal resolution. Before filing arbitration, email legal@normies.co and describe the dispute. We'll attempt to resolve it within 60 days.
Binding arbitration. Any dispute not resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in Wilmington, DE (or remotely, at your option). One arbitrator. Normies will pay AAA fees for claims under $10,000.
Class-action waiver. You and Normies agree to bring claims only in individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative action.
30-day opt-out. You can opt out of arbitration and the class waiver within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@normies.co with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" and your name. Opting out doesn't affect any other provision.
Small claims. Either party can bring a qualifying individual claim in small-claims court instead of arbitration.
§ 15Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and Disclosures, plus the cardholder agreement you accept when applying for a card, are the entire agreement between us.
- Severability. If any part is unenforceable, the rest survives.
- Assignment. You can't assign these Terms. We can assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right isn't a waiver of it.
- Changes. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email of material changes. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
- Contact. Legal: legal@normies.co. Address: Normies Labs LLC, 1209 Orange Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, USA.
